Join us for the ND Dallas First Friday Lunch, this Friday, February 3rd, from 11:30am - 1:00pm, at the Idle Rich Pub at 2614 McKinney Avenue (at Boll) Dallas-Uptown.  All alumni and friends of Notre Dame are always welcome to attend. It’s a great time to meet fellow alumni; network, discuss Club events, what’s happening at ND, and who is going to attend the Networking breakfast on Thursday February 9th at the Park Cities Club. Strong Bodies Fight Documents The Story Of Notre Dame Students' 81 Year History Of Fighting Poverty PDF Print E-mail

strong_bodiesStrong bodies fight,that weak bodies may be nourished! This is the mantra of the Notre Dame Boxing Team, which annually hosts an intramural charity tournament called “The Bengal Bouts” to support the Holy Cross development efforts in the poverty-stricken country of Bangladesh and featured in the documentary "Strong Bodies Fight" (don't miss the special screening of the film by the Notre Dame Club of Dallas). Founded by Dominic “Nappy” Napolitano and legendary football coach Knute Rockne in 1930, and perpetuated by over 80 years of blood, sweat, and grit, the Bengal Bouts represent a sacred tradition of students lacing up their gloves in a fight much larger than the ring in which they box.

In May 2008, for the first time in the storied history of the program, a group of 5 student boxers embarked on a journey to the other side of the world to witness the Bangladesh missions. Feb 4th and 11th - Notre Dame Club of Dallas Tax Assistance Program In Its 15th Year PDF Print E-mail

tap2012The Notre Dame Club of Dallas Tax Assistance Program (TAP) is in its 15th year of helping people in the Dallas community! We are about a month away from our first tax assistance program service date, and we wanted to reach out to all to see if you can help. Due to the success of the program over the years, we have expanded to four sites: Bishop Dunne, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Holy Family and St. Augustine. We will be helping folks prepare and send in their tax returns and need all kinds of volunteers including tax preparers, translators and people to help keep things organized and running smoothly. TAP will be held on February 4th and February 11th, starting at 9:00 AM, and going until about 1:00 PM. If you can help, please contact Scott Langlinais at langlinais@airmail.net.

Strong BodiesThe Notre Dame Club of Dallas invites you and your family to join us for a very special screening of Strong Bodies Fight, at the Studio Movie Grill on Royal Lane, on Thursday, February 16 , 2012.

There is a reception that starts at 6:15PM, and at 7:00PM, Mark Weber, Notre Dame Alum and the movie's producer will kick things off. The price is $15 per person and you can pay online.

You do not have to buy anything from the site. opportunitiesDo you want to join in on service projects, but can’t seem to find the time? Look around; there are opportunities all around you.  Here are some recent examples in which the club has participated.

  • At the family picnic, members and families joined in cleaning the park of litter left by previous visitors, not only making the place a more enjoyable place to visit, but also following the university’s directive on sustainability and green living.
